Painting "The Factory" - Part 1

I've been trying some new method to paint my works. Usually I start passing the drawing directly to Photoshop, but now I'm trying to do the outline in Illustrator, and when it's finished, I'll pass it to Photoshop.
I'm doing this so the line can be cleaner and, perhaps, the painting in photoshop will be easier.
This is where I am right now - I'll probably spend a lot of time doing this...

The movies I'm watching - 2

Watching this movie reminded me so much of The Nightmare Before Christmas! I love Tim Burton's animation style - it has that dark look, where everything looks strange and creepy. It's really his signature.
I didn't LOOOVE this movie, but it was really good, and made me think a lot about my dogs (I have 3 female dogs)...

About this one, I had a lot of expectations. I saw that this movie has 8.7 at IMDB, and I know it is nominated for 5 oscars, including Best Motion Picture of the Year, but I'm not an huge fan of Western movies.
2 years ago I had watched True Grit, also because it was nominated for 10 oscars, but I didn't love the movie. For me it was just an entertainment moment, with a rational, solid story.

Django Unchained surprised me: this is the kind of movie I want to watch many times and don't get tired.
Though it was already 3 a.m. when the movie ended, and I usually don't watch movies that late, I was really expectant and anxious, almost every moment. The music is also very good. So, it was the best western movie I've watched (although I didn't see that much movies of this genre).
BUT, my favourite Quentin Tarantino's movie is still Inglourious Basterds, and I think it will always be...

The series Ruroni Kenshin marked my childhood very much. I remember playing this with a sort of bamboo, pretending to be swords.
This movie was cool, because it reminded me of that time, and I like that they had put an effort in building the characters so they would be identically to the series.
It was not perfect, but I feel very good because I think that they actually focused on being faithful to the original series. I really hope that they make a second and maybe a third movie (with Shishio!!!)

The movies I'm watching - 1

My little list

As I was doing in my previous blog*, now that I'm on vacations for a month, it's time to start doing my movie inventory! Last year, at the same vacations, I managed to watch 51 movies! I think I won't be able to reach that "score" this time, but I have a lot of movies on my list.
Yesterday I already posted one of my own movie review. I'm just an huge admiror of cinema, and not an expert, so, when I talk about a movie, it's just my humble opinion.
So, on the next days, I'll probably post many posters of the movies I watch and, when I really want to, I'll write something about what I think of those movies.
I'll just start with the ones I already watched before the vacations begin, when I didn't have the time to create this blog.

*I had a blog before this one, but I got tired of that e-mail and account, so I'll just leave it where it is (but if someone want to check it out, here's the link: http://sennya.blogspot.pt/)

The Impossible

I´ve watched this one today.

I had already watched the trailer a few weeks ago, and I thought that the trailer was showing too much of the story. So I had already an idea of what would happen in this movie.
But I never thought that a movie could create so much impact in me. I can't remember the last movie that was able to shake the hell out of me like that! The Impossible managed to get me into the plot, making me tremble and doing pain faces.
I'm not an expert, but I think that the characterization was disturbingly good, the actors perfects for their roles, and the sound is great to the disaster, the suspense, and the dramatic moments, with silence parts that take our breaths away for a few moments...
Naomi Watts was undoubtedly the big star of this movie, though I don't know much of her other works.
Coming from a dramatic disaster, this dramatic movie will make you tremble, smile and cry, yearning for the big moment.
